Notes
- Elder Futhark, glyph + name + sound in a single image: no such table was found on Commons under PD/CC
— the full presentation "glyph + rune name + sound" in the English Wikipedia is done as an HTML table, not an image.
The available PD/CC images give either "glyph + sound" (
elder-futhark-chart.png), or glyphs only (elder-futhark-glyphs.svg). The rune names (fehu, uruz...) are not labeled in these files. - The Anglo-Saxon futhorc (
anglo-saxon-futhorc-chart.svg) is the only one of the three tables that has everything: glyph + name + sound + meaning. - Attribution when used: PD files — desirable but not mandatory; CC-BY / CC-BY-SA / CC0
(
kylver-stone.jpg,rok-stone.jpg,funen-bracteate-c-type.jpg,elder-futhark-painted-stones.jpg,futhark-rune-wheel.svg) — mandatory (author name + license + link); CC0 (rune-stone-circle.jpg) — not required, but provided. - Decorative visuals — honestly: glossy modern "rune cards" (tarot-style decks) on Commons under PD/CC are practically nonexistent (almost all under copyright) — none were taken. The available illustrative material under PD/CC is limited: colored stones, the Larsson 1885 manuscript, the ornamental "wheel", the stone circle (above). No large illustrated artistic poster-table of the Elder Futhark under PD/CC was found on Commons.
Rune postures
Schematic figures of the 24 rune postures (stadhagaldr) are original work, CC0 / public domain. The descriptions of the postures follow Thorsson, Futhark (1984).
