Body — the mini-track (overview)
A deepening of Module 3 — Body and state: there — the principle, here — the concrete forms. This is the "state engine" (layer 2 of the runescript loop) in detail. Course plan → the course overview.
Why a mini-track
Module 3 gives the idea "breath + posture + galdr + anchor." Here is what exactly to do with hands and body: concrete stances, breathing forms, and rune postures, so the body reliably brings you into a collected state.
Two streams (do NOT merge them)
- Taiji / qigong — relaxation-in-the-vertical, standing-post stance, slow breathing, the dantian and the "orbit" as maps of attention. A well-known bodily foundation. → body basics (breath, stance, relaxation).
- Stadhagaldr / "rune-yoga" — rune postures (stödhur) + galdr; the body "draws" the rune. German Runengymnastik (rune gymnastics; Kummer/Marby, 20th c.) via Thorsson. → stadhagaldr (the rune postures).
Sequences and progression (how to fold it into a daily practice) → sequences and progression.
⚠️ The honest frame
- Literal energy (qi/prana/"rune force" flowing through channels) =
[unverified]. The dantian, chakras, orbit, "flows" — we take as maps of attention and breath (where to direct focus), not as proven energy physiology (→ subtle body — a comparison of systems). Intention-and-flow practices ≠ Daoism; we don't merge the traditions. - Rune-yoga = a 20th-c. reconstruction (
revival-claim), not an ancient Germanic practice; the claimed effects of the postures =[unverified]. The ethical context of the Kummer/Marby/von List line → the timeline of the rune revival: we take the technique (posture + breath + chant), not the ideology; we don't amplify ariosophy. - What actually works — posture/breath/relaxation/attention (body and state).
⚠️ Physical safety
- Don't stretch or strain through pain. Do the postures gently, within a comfortable range.
- Do breathing practices without hyperventilation or holds that cause discomfort. If dizzy, return to normal breathing. With blood-pressure/heart issues or pregnancy, be careful with breath holds and long standing.
What's in the mini-track
- body basics (breath, stance, relaxation) — the taiji/qigong foundation.
- stadhagaldr (the rune postures) — the rune postures after Thorsson (sourced).
- a visual gallery of the 24 postures — 🖼 realistic art references of the postures (one per rune) + what/why.
- advanced forms (galdr, breath, gestures) — technique in depth: galdr intonation, breathing, the formula (formáli), "signing" the rune, hand-grips (Runengriffe), the "9 mothers."
- sequences and progression — daily sequences, a beginner→onward progression.
- rune-yoga (systems and forms) — research: Marby/Kummer/Spiesberger/Thorsson, concrete forms, legal sources.
- ⚠️ rune-yoga — origins and ethics — required: where it came from (the 1920s, not antiquity), the hatha-yoga borrowing, the ariosophic/Nazi context.
